Calixas
wins the Yachts Magazine World Yachts Trophy for Most Innovative Yacht
With a Fly Bridge 80’ and Larger during the 2007 Cannes Boat Show. So far this year the Calixas 105 has received four nominations including ShowBoats International‘s Most Innovative Motor Yacht and Best New Semi-Custom Yacht. It is practically unheard of for a new company and a completely new yacht to be honored in this way. We are so proud to be recognized by the worldwide yachting community.
Calixas is grateful to all the staff at Gregory C. Marshall Naval Architects for their hard work and dedication to detail. We set out to capture the 25+ years of experience in Greg and his crew, giving them carte blanche to design a yacht that met Calixas’ niche-market goals… and the results speak for itself! We’d also like to thank the entire Calixas group, who worked hard to ensure the GCMNA team vision became a reality. They sweated a lot of details and worked hard to get the message out there. And last, but by no means least, we’d like to recognize the skilled craftsmen who forged computer 3D files into the yacht itself.
Thanks to everyone, and to Yachts Magazine for such a prestigious honor.

Though Calixas won’t be showing a yacht in Monaco until next year’s Monaco Yacht Show, we will be there this September meeting with clients interested in Calixas new-builds. If you plan on attending the show, and would like to meet in person to hear more about what Calixas is doing, or to talk to Greg Marshall about his innovative designs, please contact me, Montie Twining at mtwining@calixas.com, or my colleague Breegan Heuer at breegan@calixas.com. We’d be very happy to arrange a time to meet.

Calixas is ever-grateful to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas for its hospitality while we completed commissioning and MCA final inspections on the 105. We had several VIPs fly in to Corpus over the last three months to see the Calixas 105 up close. And there are several “pending offers” on her going into the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, after which, we expect she will be sold. As of the time of this writing, she is available for purchase still.
Being an Austin, Texas-based company, this location proved perfect for our team to properly commission the yacht, and still keep up with our family commitments. She will remain in Corpus for viewing until the first week in October, when she’ll go to Fort Lauderdale for the show. If you’d like to arrange a pre-show viewing in Corpus, please contact Art Barraza, at abarraza@calixas.com.

If you haven’t seen the C105 in person, plan to see us at the 48th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 25–29, 2007. We’ll be in Slip 10 at the Las Olas “A” Dock. Call in advance for a private showing, or contact Breegan Heuer, at breegan@calixas.com, or Art Barraza, at abarraza@calixas.com.
Thank you for expressing interest in Calixas and its yachts. Exciting times are ahead with more 105s scheduled for production, plans to continue work on the 145 series, and several larger Calixas-built yachts as well.
Thank you again,
Montie
